JOB SUMMARY
Under direction, in accordance with established program standards, state and federal regulations, work with young children, including children with special needs, ages three to five and assist to carryout developmentally/age appropriate activities that support school readiness and foster respectful, culturally responsive, and trusting relationships with children and their families; Responsibilities include: assist to provide a safe, healthy and compliant environment for supervision, development and learning; assist to establish and implement daily lesson plan based on a research-based curriculum; assist with the preparation and implementation of age-appropriate developmental experiences and school readiness learning activities; ensure active supervision and supervise children in the classroom and other learning areas/spaces; interact with children at their eye level (i.e. sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending); implement activities specified on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for children with special needs; assist with developmental screenings, parent-teacher conferences and home visits; promote parent involvement in the classroom and/or center through implementation of center activities and parent meetings; track and report parent volunteer and in-kind hours/donations; assist to conduct inventory of classroom equipment and supplies; maintain current record-keeping compliant with program procedures; attend staff meetings, training and workshops; perform other related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent with six (6) months experience in age-appropriate teaching field; must have or be working towards an age-appropriate center-based Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; must have a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation (some travel required for home visits, training and getting to/from assigned worksite located across the Summit County area); computer literacy; post-employment physical and criminal background checks conducted
HIRE Rate
$16.31 per hour / $1,304.80 Bi-weekly; $16.49 per hour / $1,319.20 following successful completion of 6-month probation (Pay Level 6)
CLASSIFICATION/SCHEDULE
Regular, Full-time, Non-Exempt, 11-month and 9-month work schedules (Paid Winter & Spring Breaks)
SITE ASSIGNMENT
Worksites are located throughout Summit County and assignments are based on program needs and subject to change during the course of employment
