Custodian

Job Summary 

Under direction, in accordance with established program standards and other applicable regulations and guidelines, provide custodial and minor maintenance for agency, classrooms, offices, common areas, utilities, equipment, fixtures, and materials for the facility and grounds; follow health and safety procedures and conduct mail pick-up and delivery. Responsibilities include: complete a wide range of repairs and odd jobs, including general maintenance; assist with moving office and classroom furniture, fixtures and equipment to support staff changes, relocation, remodels, and custodial requirements; assist with training and event set-ups and tear down; perform routine inspections and assist with regular upkeep of interior and exterior spaces to ensure areas are free of safety hazards, respond to minor maintenance emergencies; ensure health and safety procedures are followed, as directed by established policies; assist with interoffice mail pick-up and delivery; attend staff meetings, training and workshops; perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements 

High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six (6) months experience in custodial services; basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, basic math skills, good communication, attention to detail, well organized, apt at problem solving and able to lift at least 30 lbs.; transportation and valid State of Ohio Driver’s License, as position requires frequent travel to sites for assignments, training and workshops; computer literacy. Pre-employment drug screen, criminal background checks and post-employment physical conducted.

Pay Rate

$16.31/hour (Pay Level 6)
